3D Printing
Have you ever had an idea that you would just like to visualise and hold in your hands? 3D printing is the solution. From rapid prototyping to low scale production, 3D printing can provide value to you or your business.
Having a 3D CAD model is a great, but physically having the item in your hands to test fit or check provides another level of risk mitigation when it comes to product development. It also allows you to enter low-rate production without the significant capital investment for a moulded part.
Our team can provide our input and expertise from 10+ years in the engineering industry to your designs, as well as some guidance on material selection and what will work best in the realms of 3D printing.
3D Scanning
Gone are the days of cardboard templates and hours of measuring, 3D scanning streamlines the prototyping process by providing a 3D reference model which can be directly imported into CAD programs.
This allows another dimension of visualisation, and more importantly, reduces the waste (both time and material) in the prototyping phase. Additionally, it is a powerful tool for reverse engineering, particularly for parts which are not readily available.
You can leverage our experience with 3D scanners, CAD programs, and mechanical engineering to achieve your goals.
We are mobile, so don’t be concerned if the object which requires scanning is not transportable.
Computer Aided Design (CAD)
3D CAD has changed the way we can design, view and analyse mechanical systems. It reduces errors and rework, provides a visual representation of the finished product and if setup smartly allows for parametric designs.
We can assist with all aspects of CAD, from 3D modeling to 2D drawings for production. Our primary CAD package is Fusion 360, however, we have 10+ years of experience with Autodesk Inventor and other CAD packages.
Mechanical Engineering Analysis
So, you’ve got an idea or a design, but will it work? And does it comply with the relevant design standards? Perhaps it can be optimised for weight, size, material, or even cost.
This part of the design phase is crucial, as it costs much less to make changes in the design phase than it does when product/s are already manufactured. You can leverage our years of experience with mechanical systems, to ensure you get your design right.
We will take the time to step you through any recommended refinements as well as advise of any requirements for design standards or best mechanical engineering practices.
